ii) Ethereal Realm - The Marches and Far Marches
iii) Celestial Realms - Heaven and Hell

Corporeal Realm - Earth

Every player begins their journey in the rooms we've built for Austin, where most of the action for In Nomine: Symphony & Silence takes place. There are other locations planned down the road as we begin to expand our game. Los Angeles and Paris are both areas we hope to have the playerbase to support as time goes on -- Los Angeles being controlled by Demons, and Paris controlled by Angels.

The design for Austin is actually quite simple. We based it off the layout given in In Nomine Revelations I: Night Music. We condensed some of the locations to make a twelve room design to the city with many areas of Local Interest set within each of those 12 major areas.

From Downtown, to the 360, to the Drag there are places for everyone, whether Angel, Demon, Soldier, or Mundane. The main areas of Austin are always being expanded with new local interest areas. Right now, each of the major areas has 1 to 4 different local interest areas, such as restaurants, police departments, or warehouses. If you have something you'd like to add to them, please contact the staff with your idea... who knows, it might get added.

Ethereal Realm - The Marches and Far Marches

The Ethereal Realm is split into two areas -- The Marches and the Far Marches. Most of the game play done in the Ethereal Realm will happen in the Marches. This is the area where human dreamscapes form... the place where the sleeping human mind goes. The type of dream a person has depends on to which of the two 'sides' of the Marches they travel to. The sides of the Marches are Beleth's realm of Nightmares and Blandine's realm of Dreams.

Both Beleth, Demon Princess of Nightmares, and Blandine, Archangel of Dreams, have their Servitors constantly travel through the Marches and patrol their side of it. They work to help humans in their dreamscapes reach out for hope (in Blandine's side) or fear (in Beleth's side).

Beyond the Marches are the Far Marches. Once, before Uriel's Purification Crusade, the things of myth, dragons, unicorns, and pagan gods, once moved through the Marches and interacted with the human dreamscapes freely. But Uriel's Crusade changed all that as he and his Servitors hunted and killed many of these Ethereal Spirits. Now, those who didn't seek protection from Beleth, reside in the Far Marches. Few Angels or Demons tread into the Far Marches now, leaving the remaining Ethereal Spirits alone.

Celestial Realms - Heaven and Hell

The Celestial Realm that is accessible to the players, Heaven and Hell, are the lowest of the Celestial planes. The Lower Hells and Upper Heavens are both off-limits to players and even the Superiors themselves rarely, if ever, access these areas.

The Heaven in the game is the center of activity for the Angels who are fighting in the War. When an Angel is in this realm, he is in his true body. As examples, a Seraph is a winged serpent or an Ofanim is a fiery wheel. In the game, we've built Heaven according to Revelations III: Heaven and Hell, spreading the area out along the lines detailed within the book. Within each area, such as the Eternal City or the Groves, you have different Cathedrals for the different Archangels. Souls, once they've died, go through the Lower Heavens before moving up Jacob's Ladder into their final reward in the Upper Heavens.

The Demons center their activity in Hell. Hell is built out of the entrails of Metatron, who was killed at Lucifer's hands. It is sprawled out across a wide expanse and built up into several 'Principalities', much akin to small cities within it. Each area of Hell is ruled by a single Demon Prince or a collection of Demon Princes who rule different sections of a specific Principality. Few travel to the Lower Hells, as they contain horrors and terrors that not even some Demons care to endure, and are the home of Lucifer.
