![]() IX The Books i) Core ii) Guides iii) Books iv) Revelations Cycle v) Superiors vi) Supplements vii) Miscellaneous Core Books The core book of rules for In Nomine lays the foundation for the game, whether it's in table-top or online form. This book, be it the soft cover (first edition) or hard cover (second edition), is not required to own to play our game. But if you'd like to own your own copy, by all means, it's worth it! The core rules introduces the different aspects of the theme, such as the races, the Songs, Words, and negative consequences that can befall one's character. The opening stories -- A Bright Dream and A Dark Dream -- provide an excellent example of the same story seen from opposing sides. Guides There are four guides available that offer a better insight into the race that you choose to play. The Angelic Player's Guide, Infernal Player's Guide, Corporeal Player's Guide, and Ethereal Player's Guide. The first two offer in depth views of the Choirs and Bands as well as the experience of Falling or being Redeemed. Books Yes, it probably looks odd to have a subtopic 'Books' under the topic with the same name. No, Uriel hasn't gone over the mental edge from working on the website. Each of the books in this series offers more information and new opportunities to use in the game. Liber Canticorum covers the basic Songs in the core rules but also provides new ones, for a total of three hundred available Songs to the Symphony. Liber Castellorum provides information on how Tethers are created, maintained, and how they can die. Liber Reliquarum is the guide for artifacts and relics in the In Nomine universe. And finally, Liber Servitorum offers a wide selection of NPCs that can step off the page and into the game. (If you're really wondering, the English names of the books are 'The Book of Songs', 'The Book of Tethers', 'The Book of Relics', and 'The Book of Servants'. Does the subtopic make sense now?) Revelations Cycle These books are a series of events that start with Night Music, which is also the book that provides In Nomine: Symphony & Silence with its starting city of Austin, Texas. The Marches, Heaven and Hell, Fall of the Malakim, and The Final Trumpet are the other four books in the series, but at this point in our storyline none of these events have occurred. Superiors This quartet of books offers greater detail on certain Archangels and Demon Princes. War and Honor covers Dominic, David, Laurence, and Michael. Pleasures of the Flesh goes in depth for Andrealphus, Kobal, Haagenti, and Nybbas. Hope and Prophecy elaborates on Gabriel, Khalid, Eli, and Blandine, while the final book, Rogues to Riches, finishes up with Valefor, Mammon, Vapula, and Fleurity. Supplements These three books were placed into this section simply because they didn't fit into one of those above. The Game Master's Guide is an excellent source of material if you ever choose to run your own In Nomine campaign or are generally curious about how to do so. The Game Master Pack and In Nomine Anime offer some story seeds and ways of changing the 'traditional' game with a few interesting twists -- like giant mechas and corny scripts that miraculously work. You Are Here offers a wide variety of locations scattered across the globe for campaigns, areas untouched from the War, or obscure hiding spots to avoid those pesky Malakim... Miscellaneous Other information that is definitely helpful. Do you have a question about something in the books? See if the answer that you're looking for is on the In Nomine FAQ page. Trying to figure out if someone is an Angel or Demon? Here are some helpful clues, as sprinkled throughout the guides. If something doesn't look quite right, consider checking the errata page that has been put together and divided into the individual books. All of the books (with the exception of the first edition of the core rules) are readiliy available from a variety of sources. The best place to look is in your local comic or gaming shop -- check the yellow pages for the ones in your hometown and give them a call. Warehouse 23 (new) and Noble Knight Games (new and used) are excellent online stores... and if you're feeling lucky eBay sometimes has In Nomine items up for auction. Previous: The History
