When:  12 March 2005
Who:  Genevieve, Keitaro
What:  An impromptu rescue attempt on Genevieve's part reintroduces her to capable fighting - and driving - hands of Keitaro.

The Graveyard

Right next to a Roman Catholic Church, the Church of Saint Catherine, is an old graveyard that has served most of Austin since it was first consecrated. The Graveyard has been used for many things in since the Church's building, most lately for Voudoun ceremonies late in the night. Several servitors of Saminga also vie for control of the Graveyard in attempts to turn it into a tether to their Prince.

Whisking through grass, Genevieve squints and peers at several of the headstones, as if trying to connect some pattern or another. The slight female hrns to herself, and then slides out the digital camera to take a picture of whatever has her interest, the flash reflecting off a few surfaces.

As some may enjoy site-seeing around the graveyard area, others enjoy it as a source of training...

This is no more true sounding than by the grunts and sickening sounds of cracking bones that comes from a nearby scuffle to the north. An apparent fire illuminates lightly in the more darkened corners of the northwest corner, where at a closer look appears to be a pair of young teens that have built a shrine dedicating themselves to some satantic ritual to appease their dark lord. Amongst the pair remains, Keitaro standing serenly in a defenseive stance as he paces himself between the two battered combatants... What could be going on?

Genevieve is, herself, documenting some of the more suspicious looking pieces of paraphenalia. However, it seems that Keitaro's managed to find a much more direct way of tending to the matter. The sounds do ring out, and with a curious coo, Genevieve straightens up, and then looks towards the confrontation, feet pattering on the ground as she draws closer.

The satanists pull a set of spiked clubs that remain near the satantic altar, lighting them a flame as they shoot leering glances towards the man whom so rudely interrupted their ceremony.

Keitaro, all the while still standing in his defensive stance, looks around with a smirk against the lads rather new violent methods of approach and begins to speak, "Clubs? Come now guys we can handle this like civilized peo-- Woah!" and then with a swift motion ducks out of the way of an oncomming swipe against his well-kept mane.

(So much for chilvary.... Welp better get to work.) O o . thinks the asian in the back of his mind as he motions himself downward to sweep his opponent off his feet. The kick connects and sends the goon to the ground as Keitaro stands and moves to take on the other goon, "I'll give ya another chance. Run while you can or face painful consequences!"

Genevieve gives a faint gasp, perhaps recognizing some of the fireworks for what they truly were. She actually hops up onto a tombstone, scrunching up in a ball and wiggling her butt to get ready to pounce. However, the Force is not with her tonight, and she instead somersaults face-first into the ground with a faint 'ow'. A moment later, though, she's up on her feet, and tossing rocks at one of the offending parties. "HEY! Go home and pick your zits, you high school loser!"

As Keitaro approaches, the combat ready satanist stands firm in his current position and moves to attack as his soon as his assailent is in range, coming up with a over-handed swing against his Keitaro as he yells, "Allow me to spill your blood for appeasement of our master! DIE!"

*CRACK!*

Just below the swing, Keitaro has easily taken the blown and blocked it with a split V of his hands and he grunts as two enter a power struggle for supremecy. The flames seeming to flicker with the blowing wind, nearly reaching out like a sinister tongue to lick its victim. Oz continues to push against his enemy while thinking, . o O (Damn... i may need to.. take a break from ... this after tonight.)

Meanwhile, The fallen satanist stands again and grins as he sees his oppourtunity, clearly seeing no reason NOT to take advanatage of it before running off to attack the defenseless Keitaro.. Though he seems to not have heard Keitaro's savior in the distance, as Gene yells multiple times and starts chucking some rocks at the Satanists, one of which seems to be a bit larger than the rest and SLAMS right into the side of the charging satanist's head! Heavily dazed by the lucky shot, He falls over to the ground, fainting from the dizziness!

"Yeah, that's right, suck a duck!" Genevieve burbles out in amusement, before she twirls in glee upon one foot. "We're number one! We're number one!" She beams out to Keitaro, and says, "Those were some pretty smooth moves. Fightin' for a good cause?" She hops up to him, looking him over, and then "HEY!"s. "I know you! I saw you in Fado's!"

Keitaro continues to grunt as he struggles against the larger fellow as Genevieve speaks to him but manages to comment, "... a ... bit... busy right ... now..." and unfs loudly as he uses his legs to provide him with that little bit of extra boost to knock his opponent off balance and exposing his gut!

(Go for the gut... finish the match!) O o . rolls through Keitaro's mind before boosting off towards the exposed satantist and slaming his right elbow into the man's gut harshly. The words, "Checkmate!" escape Oz's lips as the man's breath is literaly knocked out of him and tumbles over in pain and then knocks him out with a swift punch.

Shaking his fist to offset the pain, Keitaro looks back to Genevieve with a smile, "Yeah I go to Fado's every now and then.. ... Uhh.." and with that Oz appears to carry a confused look about his face as he continues, "Miss Genevieve? ... what are... what are you doing in a place like this, much more at this time of night?"

Genevieve bats eyes, and then stretches arms out to take a few pics of the shrine. "Pictures. Finding things OUT... and running away quickly if the trouble's too much for me to handle?" She looks down at the unconscious forms, and says, "See, even with all the struggle going on, we're doing okay. The church is well organized, openly recognized, and rather prominent in the day to day lives of people. Hell gets the weekend Satan worshippers." She gives a shrug and prods one of the guys with a booted foot. "What about YOU? You didn't come out here just to kick their butts, did you?"

Oz blinks as the question is shifted back to him and then sheepishly taps his index fingers together, seeming a bit embarassed, "... Well... Hehe... Kind of.. You could say that...." and then laughs loud for a moment as he approaches and looks around, "Do I hear sirens? I think we best be on our way come on.. I can take ya home." and walks over to Genevieve, "It doesn't matter what I am doing here.. Rather, what does matter is that you are safe... and thanks for the save yourself, yer a pretty good shot with a rock." he states oddly as the two walk out to the parkinglot of the church.

Genevieve bounces along behind Keitaro. "Oh, really? That'd be groovy, the buses don't run this late on Saturdays!" She then hmms, and says, "I could have done better, though. Tell me more about yourself?" Her eyes are earnest, perhaps seeking some hidden meaning. The moment passes all too quickly, though, as she does a double take at the parking lot. "That?" She points incredulously towards the (presumably!) nice car. "We're going in that?"

Keitaro says, "Yup. She's my pride and joy, my RX-7 I like to call the white comet.. She's served me well and likewise for me to her. I can't help to part with her... Cept maybe if I could figure out that underpower problem with the RX-8... Hmm..." and with that he continues to ponder loudly as he unlocks the vehicle with keyless entry, "Hop on in.""

Genevieve oohs, and claps her hands in delight. "It sounds like you really know your cars! What about driving them, though? It kinda seems like a shame if you were someone that would enjoy crashing them..." She scampers over towards the passenger side, cupping her hands to either side of her face to peer at the interior.

Keitaro says, "Depends on how you view it.. In video games, I enjoy playing Burnout 3 and its crash mode is most enticing when you are in need of taking out frustration. However, real life has no reset button unfortunately. So to good at what you preech, one has to be able to back up the talk with the walk." and with that he engages the ignition, allowing the engine to fire up, "You coming?" he jokes."

With a faint 'Yeep!' Genevieve clatters in the door, and then peers long and hard at Keitaro. "You're not going to do anything creepy or scarey or just plain dumb are you? I mean it was cool of you to kick their asses, but then you could try to kick mine and I'd just have to wind up kicking yours, and... oooh, lookit all the cool stuff in here..."

Keitaro chuckles and jokes, "Not to worry princess, I am an upmost gentlemen, to take advantage of ladies is so not my style." and with that he pulls out of the parking lot and speeds off with the apparent whine of his twin turbo-ed rotary engine! He checks his rear-view mirror and smiles, seeing the red white and blue lights flicker behind him, . o O (Yeah those punks are looking to do some time.)

"So i am not one to be so blunt to ask where you live but is there a location that I might be able to drop you off at?", Oz questions as he continues down the road and pushing play on his dash display, kicking on some mOve to help settle the ride.

Genevieve blinks some at the name used, and then squirms in her seat, chuckling. She appears ready to answer, but as the car handles on the road, she practically squeals in delight at some of the cornering. Hands clap together, and she squints her eyes shut. "That's pretty awesome! What else can you do with it?" She's totally forgotten about the whole 'dropping off' part of things.

Keitaro makes a quirk over to Genevieve and chuckles, "Wow.. I am shocked to hear such glee. Though I am not surprised, most people find it to a bit scary at first." and with that he notices a small Honda Civic pull out and begin to speed away, "Here try this on for size."

Keitaro puts the RX-7 petal to the floor and begins to tail the Civic, flashing his high beams on and off momentarily before pulling up next to the new challange as they approach a stop light. He reves his engine against the civic, which replies with a follow rev, moving from red to green!

GO!

The RX-7 takes the launch and pulls ahead of the civic with some ease behind him as the two approach a nearby L corner! "Ready steady go." he mutters to himself as he kicks the clutch and downshifts as he pulls the E-brake, sending the RX-7 into a slide with some difficulty but manages to keep the car steady as the RX-7 moves and drifts around the corner before speeding off again taking the lead position, "Not too much longer now."

"Speed can be an awesome thing!" Genevieve chirrups out. A slightly shy flush crosses her face as she looks over towards the challenge, and she hunkers down in her seat, eyes bright in anticipation. As the engines rev, she gives a rather audible "Yeee-haw!" in that endearing, slightly squeaky soprano of hers. She practically pops her mouth open in wonderment at the entire concept of -applying brakes for better maneuvering- and looks towards Keitaro with a glassy eyed stare of awe. She remains otherwise silent, not wanting to distract him from the finish, or, more importantly, the maneuvering.

Keitaro grins, appearing pleased with Genevieve's reaction as he flashes his emergency lights as a sign of victory but aswell as a sign of respect for his opponent before turning off. He turns back to Gene and asks, "Where might I take ya tonight then miss speedy?"

Genevieve leans in, and giddily bats hands at Keitaro. "Speedy? That's cute. Midtown'll be fine, and wow, that was so cool. I'd love to learn sometime, but..." She blushes a bit and looks down at the floor mats, "I usually ride the buses. They're cool, but they need to go faster."

The RX-7 slows to a halt at a nearby stop light and Keitaro turns his attention to Genevieve, quirking an eyebrow, "You mean you've never learned to drive?"

"Not legally!" Genevieve fidgets. "I'm always busy with the sidewalks and working for the pet store and pestering the people at Fado's. It IS fun, though!" She chuckles some, and then says, "But if I DID learn, I'd want me to be the best at what I did, you know?"

Keitaro's expression now seems a bit more confused, thinking everyone should at least have their licensess by now. As the light turns green, He continues onward towards Midtown but continues to ask Genevieve, "Well you seem like you have a pretty positive attitude towards driving, if I do say so myself. It is nice to hear someone so enthuised about speed and wanting to drive... You know if I knew you a bit better, i might consider teaching you to drive... Say.."

Keitaro rubs his chin and continues to ponder, "There is a driving class that is beginning at the YMCA next month. We have these awesome simulators that were donated by a local chairty to help kids prep for their driver's test... You should come an apply down there and sign up. It would be a great experiance for ya."

Genevieve perks up even as he progresses to the spot where she will be dropped off. "You know, that sounds cool. A good, realistic one, right, not like in the arcades? And there's not a vertical control, I bet... the airplane simulators are kinda fun..." she smirks some, though, and then continues to wriggle, even while restrained by the seatbelt. "Are you going to be teaching there?" As if in afterthought, she points towards a side street that will eventually place them in front of Fado's, "Oh, right here will be fine..." She flashes a grin.

Keitaro begins to pull over per the lady's wish and puts on the E-brake as he pulls the car out of gear. He turns back to Genevieve and thinks for a moment, "Well I am an instructor for martial arts for the kids at the center.. I do have some time so I will see if I can get some extra time to help with the driving instructor. Think that would be cool?"

Genevieve practically detonates with girlish delight. "Would it ever! That'd be nice. And mmm, martial arts, I could get lessons in that too. Although.... would it be too weird since I'm an adult? It's supposed to be kids' programs..." She raises one hand to cup tbe hack of her head sheepishly. "And thank you, thank you, for this..."

Keitaro says, "Hey, your welcome. It is no problem really. As for the martial arts, it wouldn't be a problem either. I have a mixed class that is open to everyone, kids to adults. They have the sign up forms at the YMCA, so feel free and i'll get you schedueled in."

Genevieve half-staggers out the door, still nodding and looking a bit shocked at the prospect. "And here I had thought I was just going to spend the evening doing some picture taking." She bobs towards him in an appreciative nod, and says, "I will, yes!" she snaps a hand to the air after closing it -- but not slamming it -- and raises one hand high in the air to wish him a good night.

Keitaro waves to Genevieve through the windshield and begins to pull out, driving off into the night. More evil to be stopped and racing to be done.
