St. Mary's Cathedral The Foyer is seperated from the service hall by a glass wall set with a set of double doors made of glass. A fountain with holy water trickles in the center of the Foyer providing blessed water to all who enter the Cathedral. The service hall is shaped in the form of a cross. Pews flow on each side of the main aisle to the Altar set on a stage at the end of the hall. To the right is a grand organ with pipes reaching to the top of the Vaulted ceiling. The choir sits in a balcony ona second level above the organist. To the left of the Altar sits the Priests, nuns and other holy men which work or visit the cathedral. Doors behind the Altar, hidden behind a wall, lead to the rectory, offices and dorms. Noah is near the front of the church, first pew near the center aisle. He's sitting back on the seat with his feet on the kneeler. Eyes closed, he sits there quietly. Whatever it was that was that drove Noah here to the church matters little to Kacela. The reasonably well-dressed woman lingers in the foyer momentarily, and pauses by the basin where a trickle circulates the holy water within. A rare moment of pique crosses her features, and with a smirk, she defiantly plunges hands into the water. Interesting. No change. She holds them there, head tilted to the side, lips drawn in a tight smile. A few of the sisters at the church cross themselves at the sight of the person practically bathing hands in the basin. However, the moment's amusement passes, and Kacela withdraws hands, corners of her mouth once again resting in neutral as she shakes out her hands, sending water to spatter on a few darkened spots. The sound of her feet walking down the aisle can be heard for some time as she stands to Noah's left and rear, hands clasped in front of her trim belly. Noah sits there still, eyes closed, focused on something...presumably prayer given the locale. Either that or he's doing a good job of faking it. Or he's asleep. He does tilt his head at the sound of the water though. Kacela is currently situated in the center of one of the aisles, shoulders back and squared. Noah is in fact easily within arm's reach of the woman, but she's made no motions toward him with the holy-water soaked hands clasped in front of her. It's unclear if they've already spoken or not. Damien sneaks in the cathedral on his way home from seeing Sandra, just to see it, just for a moment. He slips in, and spots the back of the heads of Noah and Kacela. He freezes like a deer in headlights for a moment, and then decides to sit in the very back pew. Standing closer to Noah, one can see that he has a rosary in his hands. It's a simple thing, pearl plastic beads of green and white. Slowly he slides them between his thumb and forefinger. His lips move constantly though no words escape his lips. Another moment passes, but ultimately, Kacela's patience ends. She finally moves, those soaked fingers rising, finely boned knuckles flexing as she bears down upon Noah. Splayed hands clasp around the man's skull, soaking forefingers squidging around in his ears in classic wet willy fashion. An infinitely smug expression crosses her features, as she demands, "Am I going to have to just give up and get that training from someone else?" Damien figures that no one is going to get hurt, not in the church, and his gaze moves from Kacela and Noah up toward the altar at the front of the cathedral. His mind is on something else entirely than wet willies and medical lessons. Noah starts, jumping and then squirming around. As he realizes who it is, he begins to chuckle, more loudly than one should do in church. He doesn't notice if anyone stares but he says through the laughter "Hey!" then lowers his voice "hey! No no...I'm sorry. It's been a...really weird couple weeks. What are you doing next Monday? I'm sorta tied up tonight and tomorrow, I'm not sure how the weekend looks. I might be free Sunday. But I imagine I should be okay for Monday if that's good for you?" Kacela wipes her hands off on Noah's shoulders, and then shrugs slightly as she crosses her arms, beginning to pace restlessly. She spies Damien, and gives him a resigned look, before looking back toward Noah. "Your entourage awaits. And busy, I see. Quite the social butterfly." She rumbles to herself. "Monday should be satisfactory, yes." She dips her chin nearly to her chest, as she admits, "But weird? Is that what you thought of the visit to the beach?" Noah turns around and spots Damien for the first time. He looks quite surprised, himself. Noah looks closer though and focuses his attention on Kacela "Oh no!" he says, raising his voice to a loud whisper before lowering it "No no, the beach trip was awesome! I wish it could have been longer. We should really do that again sometime." He looks at his watch "Hey...What are you doing right now? Would you like to get some dinner," he asks in a warm tone, still rubbing the water out of his ear with his index finger. Damien seems to ignore the looks of Noah and Kacela, and seems more intent on the altar at the front of the church. His mind is someplace else entirely. "Should just find some homeless guy or a tourist to just practice on," Kacela growls to herself through teeth. At his inquiry, she recoils, almost as if she had been smacked by a Malakite-powered two by four. "I... should be able to. Where? Are you sure you weren't asking the space cadet behind me?" She whips her head around to gaze at Damien. Noah furrows his brows. He knows at this point that she's probably half serious about the homeless guy part. Even so, he returns to that same warm smile and nods "Yeah. Umm...Wherever you want. I don't know too many restaurants around here so anyplace you want. My treat." He tilts his head a little down the aisle to see Damien then back to Kacela again "D already got his quality time for the day. There's plenty of me to go around," he suggests with another chuckle "Come on. Let's go eat." And with that, Noah slides the rosaries into his pocket. He steps out into the aisle and instinctively genuflects while facing the altar before turning in preparation to leave. Damien just sits in the back pew, lost in his thoughts, as Noah and Kacela leave the church on their little date. Noah passes by Damien on his way out of the church, stopping smile at his friend. He reaches out to put his hand on Damien's shoulder "I've been praying that it went well for you. I'm....I'm going to have dinner with Kacela. I don't know how this might change things so I want to at least do this much for her." Damien glances at Noah, and then back at the altar, and says, "I didn't know you guys were here. I gotta sit here for a little while, Noah, before I go home and work. Go have a good dinner." Noah smiles warmly still. He reaches into his pocket and pulls out the simple plastic pearl beaded rosary. He takes Damien's hand, opens it if permitted, and places the rosary in his hand "God bless, D." He holds his hand over Damien's and stands there for a moment before walking towards the exit. Previous: Logs
