The University The campus of the University of Texas at Austin stretches over several square miles. The most striking area of the campus is the clock tower, which looms over the rest of the campus and glows depending on when the school wins a victory in something it considers important. The West Mall is also another large part of the campus, housing the school's Union and having an open grassed area in front of it with enough trees to give it suitable shading. The southwest corner of the campus is where the Harry Ransom Center is. A massive library and archive area that has several rare books and artifacts that make it of special interest to Yves. Finally, the last place of major interest is a Tokamak reactor buried deep beneath the Math and Sciences Building; the reactor a source of constant interest by both servitors of Jean and Vapula. Pan appears. As a whole bunch of wheels. Guess she's an offanim after all. But there's one difference between her and other Offanim, namely it's the DISCORD. Yes, Pan has a single chain wrapped around her wheels, symbolizing that she is, in fact, 'flawed'. Pan rolls around a bit, and then seems to get embarrassed, and mumbles, "<Please, don't look...>" In the Celestial Tongue. The glory of Heaven. The Eternal Chorus. Being near to God, and thus the Perfect Symphony. It's no wonder why humanity aspires to come here. His physical vessel vaporizing in the transition, Remliel's physical form unfolds itself in a burst of light, as a six-eyed, winged serpent. "<Aaahhh... It is good to be back in this holy place...>" At Pan's comment, Remliel swivels his head away from the source of the voice. "<It is not good to deny who you are, but if you wish it, you will have it.>" Sarah appears as well! It's pretty much impossible to hide her true nature here - clearly Mercurian, given she looks about the same as she did on Earth. A little more ideal, a little more pretty, wrapped in light and Perfection - though the standard 'warm smile' that comes with the description is lacking for a few seconds. She wasn't actually EXPECTING that, so even the feeling of being Home, being where she truly BELONGS, isn't enough to make her really content at first as she tries to puzzle out what's going on. Which is about when a Seraph - who is not Remy - approaches, and declares, "The Archangel Yves is occupied at the present time...however, he has seen fit to see you shortly. You are free to walk our halls until the time has come when he is available for your audience." The seraph's many eyes linger over Pan's chain for a long moment, unveiled revulsion hanging there, before he says, with flawless precision, "Good day." And leaves. Sarah - for that truly /is/ her name - hovers there for a short moment...before cracking a tiny smile. "Well, at least we'll get his ear!" Pan can't really frown as she is a bunch of wheels, but they hop grumpily a little. "<Heaven is pretty awesome>", Pan says, though using a more 'literal' term of awesome than what is usually expected when saying that word, "<I don't like being looked at like I am gross, that is all. I am going to get better. It will not impede me.">, Pan then rolls around a bit excitedly, "<Hurrah, Hurrah! This is the best place ever, Remy. I don't think I've been here since I was a reliever...twenty thousand years ago or so, Hahaha, feel like a kid again!>" Remliel nods to the Seraph. "<We will await on his convienence.>" Taking this as permission, Remliel looks to Pan, pausing at the sight of the chain... and nods. "<We will all have the ability to deal with out problems over time. God's mercy is infinite. If only all people could approach even a fraction of such.>" Floating about, Remliel glances to a bookshelf. "<As we have some time to wait, taking advantage of the opportunity to learn could be useful.>" "<Quite,>" Sarah notes, glancing around. The sight of Pan's chain startles her a bit, but Pan's assurances eases her concern - a little, at least. She nods, and for the moment, thinks no more of it. It's not /crippling/ (Sarah thinks) and if she intends to work it off, that's well enough for now. Sarah quickly over sover to one of the book shelves to determine where they are. "<I do not recognize this /particular/ area...of course, things have probably moved a little since the last time we were here....>" Well, you can't really 'work off' discord, so much as hope your superior notices your penance. Panacea rolls back and forth thoughtfully, even more obviously in constant motion than before. "<Maybe there are books on Raphael, here. Or even Christian. 'Ssuming he won't mind or anything. Or we could always read Huck Finn. Huck Finn is good.>", she pauses, "<Did I ever tell you my true name?>" She realizes now would be a good time. "<I don't think so,>" Sarah replies, wandering up to a nearby bookshelf and squinting at once of the books. She quietly pulls it from the shelf and begins, with the infinite care of one who respects a book above all other things, to leaf through it. "<We may want to look up information on Azrael, as well,>" Sarah notes. "<Apparently, Christian is one of his Saints...learning of him may yield insight into Christian's abilities, and why he is doing what he is doing.>" "<We have not been here for some time to my knowledge. I know I have not, since my assignment to Earth...>" Remliel pulls a book from one of the high shelves, and flips it open, looking through it. He uses a wingtip to flip pages. "<I'm sure we'll find something if we look long enough. The Library tends to help those who look.>" Closing the book, Remliel returns it precisely where it was. "<If you told me, Pan, I am afraid I've forgotten.>" Pan considers, <"If Christian is a Saint, then he must have had a destiny and fulfilled it."> the fire around her wheels brightens, <"So if we find out his Destiny, perhaps we can figure out what just happened. That'd help for her. As for Raphael, what about her specifically would 'send Christian over the edge?'>", she turns to Remy and adds, <"My True Name is Panacea. I really am not named after a Nature God."> Sarah nods, and smiles over at Panacea. "<Mine really IS Sarah,>" she says, closing the book with infinite care and slotting it exactly back where it belongs. "<Anyway, if we keep looking we'll find something relevant eventually...>" And possibly Yves, too; he has a way of popping up when you find what you're looking for. quot;<And I am Remliel.>" The Seraph begins flitting down the hallways of the Library, looking along the shelves for the things they want to find. "<And yes, 'eventually' is a proper term. Provided the information is not restricted, it could take us several days to locate the books at worst.>" Panacea seems to laugh, "<It must be nice having a name you can show off. If it takes us several days, though, we should have already talked to Yves. At least, that is what was said, things tend to come up though, but I have a feeling he'll keep his appointment. He'd know if he couldn't do it tommorow, right?"> "<Well, we're gonna need to have a hum-dinger of an excuse unless people forget about this,>" Sarah notes. "<So I guess being gone for a few days won't be so bad.>" She continues following, peeking at book titles every few 'meters'. "<And yes...we might well find Yves /as/ we find the appropriate section of the Library. This place works like that, sometimes.>" Previous: Logs or 2005 Archive |
